MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. --
Fighting Jayhawks,
February is the perfect time to renew focus on our mission, our preparedness, and our values…especially after the holiday rush in December, and the reset we experience in January.
Mission
I want to thank everyone who volunteered to serve in our nation’s capital during the presidential inauguration.
You displayed incredible professionalism during a mission that required quick reactions and adaptability.
I also want to thank all those who came in after hours to make sure our Airmen had equipment, medical requirements, and pay for the mission.
The short notice mission required operational readiness, and because of everyone’s preparations, our wing was able to answer the call.
Preparedness
Speaking of preparations, the 184th Wing is always on call to help our neighbors during times of crisis.
The upcoming seasons require us to be ready at a moment’s notice for domestic operations.
Whether we are called to support civilian agencies for ice storms, floods, tornadoes, or an ongoing pandemic, your readiness is paramount to our success.
Please take this month to update your legal documents, complete your medical requirements, and develop your own emergency action plan.
Values
February is Black History Month and March is Women’s History Month.
I encourage you to learn about the tremendous contributions made by African Americans and women throughout the United States, as well as in Kansas and the 184th Wing.
We celebrate the achievements of all Fighting Jayhawks, and we look forward to seeing what you accomplish in the future.
Proud to serve with you,
Jason L. Knobbe, Colonel
Commander
