MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Congratulations to Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Tener, 184th Security Forces Squadron, on his nomination for the 184th Wing Chief’s Group "Trailblazer" Award.
Tener consistently exemplifies the highest standards of leadership, innovation, and service. Serving as the squadron’s support superintendent, wing anti-terrorism program manager, and resource advisor, his operational impact on the installation is profound.
Recently, he volunteered as a lead planner for Exercise Pacific Prairie, developing a framework to prepare more than 700 personnel for a combat readiness inspection. Furthermore, his diligent resource management secured more than $100,000 in unfunded requests and vital Tactical Combat Casualty Care equipment, directly preserving combat power and elevating training quality for our Defenders.
Beyond his operational duties, Tener embodies the U.S. Air Force core value of Service Before Self. Upon learning of a local foster child whose sole Christmas wish was a working bicycle, he partnered with the base innovation lab to completely restore and inspect a bicycle, finishing it in Air Force colors. He then coordinated a comprehensive base tour—featuring KC-135 and KC-46 aircraft, along with a military working dog demonstration—creating a life‑changing moment of connection, mentorship, and hope for an aspiring future Airman.
Tener is a steady-handed leader who strengthens team cohesion, reinforces trust across the formation, and ensures our Airmen are ready for the mission ahead. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved nomination!
