Eleven Airmen assigned to the 184th Comptroller Flight, Kansas Air National Guard, attended a Financial Manager Comptroller Contingency Training Event at McGhee-Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee, Aug. 4-8, 2024. The training provided immersive, scenario-based experiences in performing tasks that Air National Guard finance personnel execute in deployed locations but would never accomplish at their home duty stations.
“The Financial Manager Comptroller Contingency Training Event is the first of its kind for the 184th Comptroller Flight,” said Capt. John Baxter, commander of the 184th CPTF.
Each Airman trained in their deployed responsibilities based on the unit type code they’re assigned to such as comptroller, budget technician, disbursing agent, cashier, and paying agent. They also learned about expeditionary finance concepts including agent sites, stored value cards, cashier operations, budgeting, and accounting.
“The pioneering effort allowed FM personnel to travel to an alternate site to complete wartime task training while exercising remote operations capability,” said Baxter. “The training focused on enhancing financial management skills and preparedness for war.”
