SMOKY HILL AIR NATIONAL GUARD RANGE, Kan. --

The Kansas Air National Guard will host an open house at the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Range, Aug. 5, 2023. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors will see aerial gunnery demonstrations by U.S. Air Force fighters, bombers, and other aircraft.
Military equipment and vehicles will be on display. Food, refreshments, and memorabilia will be available for purchase (cash only), or visitors can bring their own. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, sunscreen, bug repellent, and water. Ear protection will be provided.

- Time: Gates open at 8 am, Demonstrations are 10 am – 3 pm
- Location: Smoky Hill ANG Range, 8429 W. Farrelly Rd., Salina, KS 67401 (see flyer for maps to three available gates)

- General Public is invited
- Weapons, alcohol, and drones are prohibited
- Registered service animals are allowed
The Smoky Hill ANG Range hosts an open house every other year depending on operational availability and weather conditions. This year’s event is the first open house at Smoky Hill ANG Range since August 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Smoky Hill ANG Range is a 34,000-acre target range located 10 miles southwest of Salina, Kansas. The range is assigned to the Kansas Air National Guard's 184th Wing, which is located at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. It’s one of three Air National Guard air-to-ground training ranges in the Midwest, and it’s the largest and busiest range in the Air National Guard.
