 Welcome to the 184th Wing,

Kansas Air National Guard!

Home of the Fighting Jayhawks.

The 184th Wing is located at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. We employ about 1,300 Air National Guardsmen, most of whom are part-time and serve one weekend per month.

Our Airmen are highly-trained professionals who add value to the military through their civilian expertise.

Our Airmen are also local public servants, local business owners, local employees, and local tradesmen. They’re extremely invested in serving their nation, state, and communities.

How to Join the Kansas Air National Guard

How to Join the Kansas Air National Guard

The first step in joining the 184th Wing is to contact a recruiter. You can reach them at 316-759-7424 or stop by their office at 2626 S. Rock Rd., Wichita, Kansas, 67210.

Or, you can fill out the contact form below and one of our locally-based recruiters will get back to you.

If you've never served in the military before, you must be between the ages of 17 and 42, pass a pre-screening interview, then participate in a written and physical exam to start. Qualified individuals will then go through a skill selection process, swear an Oath of Enlistment, attend a drill weekend, attend Basic Military Training and attend tech school.

If you have previous military experience the process may be a little different. For example, prior service recruits may be exempt from basic training and tech school. Please ask your recruiter for details.
